Ahli Lembaga Eksekutif PBSM, Pegawai HADRT Terima Tauliah

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Ahad, 23 Mac. - Seramai 20 pegawai kanan yang dilantik menjadi Ahli Lembaga Eksekutif Kebangsaan Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah Negara Brunei Darussalam (PBSM) dan 13 pegawai kanan dan rendah Skuad Khas Bantuan Kemanusiaan dan Pengurusan Bencana HADRT menerima sijil pertauliahan mereka pagi ini.

Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat dan menyempurnakan penyampaian sijil kepada penerima pangkat berlangsung di Kompleks Stadium Negara Hassanal Bolkiah, Berakas, di sini ialah Menteri Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah.

Juga hadir ialah pegawai-pegawai kanan kerajaan, Presiden PBSM, Awang Haji Julaini bin Haji Abdul Latip dan Timbalan Presiden PBSM, Chai Yum Fatt serta ahli-ahli PBSM.

Terdahulu, Upacara Pertauliahan Pangkat kepada semua penerima pangkat pertauliahan Ahli Lembaga Eksekutif Kebangsaan PBSM diadakan di kawasan letak kereta stadium berkenaan.

Pada upacara tersebut, tetamu kehormat diiringi oleh Komandan Upacara, Sheikh Haji Abdul Kadi bin Abdullah menyempurnakan pertauliahan kepada kepada 20 pegawai kanan yang dilantik menjadi Ahli Lembaga Eksekutif Kebangsaan dan kepada 13 pegawai kanan dan rendah Skuad Khas Bantuan Kemanusiaan dan Pengurusan Bencana HADRT.
 
 
Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah, Menteri Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan menyempurnakan pertauliahan kepada salah seorang Ahli Lembaga Eksekutif Kebangsaan Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah Negara Brunei Darussalam.



Majlis juga diselajurkan dengan penyerahan sumbangan sebuah kereta Ambulans PBSM oleh Pengurus Pemasaran, Syarikat NBT (Brunei) Sendirian Berhad, Awang Muhammad Clovien Abdullah Tim Poh kepada Presiden PBSM, diikuti Majlis Menepung Tawar didahului oleh tetamu kehormat.

PBSM Negara Brunei Darussalam ditubuhkan pada tahun 1948 dikenali sebagai Persatuan Palang Merah Negeri Brunei (PPMNB).
 
 
Yang Berhormat Menteri Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan menepung tawar kereta Ambulans sumbangan Syarikat NBT (B) Sdn Bhd.


Diasaskan oleh Al-Marhum Pengiran Temenggong Sahibul Bahar bin Pengiran Haji Mohammed, penubuhan persatuan berkenaan adalah bagi menyokong salah satu keputusan Persidangan Perubatan di Cannes, Perancis yang bersidang pada 5 Mei 1918 dan menyeru agar lebih banyak Persatuan Palang Merah dan Bulan Sabit Merah ditubuhkan di seluruh dunia.

PPMNB telah diiktiraf di dalam Perlembagaan Negeri Brunei 1959 yang mana pada tahun 1977, ia diterima menjadi ahli yang ke-170 Persekutuan Antarabangsa Palang Merah dan Bulan Sabit Merah (IFRC).

Setelah berada di bawah seliaan Persatuan Palang Merah British (British Red Cross Society) sehingga tahun 1984, PBSM terpisah daripada seliaan Palang Merah British setelah Negara Brunei Darussalam merdeka daripada naungan British dan pada tahun 1991 persatuan berkenaan didaftarkan secara rasmi di bawah Seksyen 83 (3) Akta Pertubuhan-Pertubuhan sebagai sebuah bantuan sukarela yang tertakluk di bawah syarat-syarat Konvensyen Geneva.

Red Crescent sets up team on humanitarian aid and disaster relief

A HUMANITARIAN Aid and Disaster Relief Team (HADRT) was launched yesterday with the appointment of its first 13 members.

The squad, under the Brunei Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), comprised members from higher institutions, government and private agencies.

Members who are already working make up the frontline team and will lead medical services in disaster situations and humanitarian projects, said the BDRCS Director of Communications Ya-Aneta Hj Mohd Yusuf.

She is also one of the senior officers of the newly-launched team.

All members are above 18 years old and have been identified as those who are committed to the cause, Ya-Aneta said.

Each of them have undergone various training programmes carried out by the society. They will undergo more theory and practical training to enhance their knowledge and skills, she added.

The launching of the HADRT squad was held simultaneously with the Rank Commissioning Ceremony for 20 national executive board members of the BDRCS.

Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Culture Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Hj Hazair Hj Abdullah.

The event also featured the presentation of a Toyota INNOVA, a donation from NBT Sdn Bhd to BDRCS to be used as an ambulance.

The newly-appointed president of the BDRCS, Hj Julaini Hj Abd Latip, in his welcoming remarks said that the society is currently in discussion with the Co-curriculum Department at the Ministry of Education about opening a unit of the Red Crescent Society for primary schools.
 
 
 

Currently, 90 per cent of the society is made up of youths studying in secondary and higher institutions.

The president also commended the synergic dynamics between the new executive board and the members since their appointment in December, with the aid offered to the National Disaster Management Centre during the recent floodings in Tutong and Belait District and the medical services provided during the 30th National Day Celebration.

The BDRCS has actively participated in activities hosted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
 
Brunei will play host to the 13th South-East Asia Red Cross and Red Crescent Leaders Meeting in 2016.

Red Crescent promotes members

THE Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) yesterday held a promotion ceremony for 11 members of its Brunei-Muara division.

The ceremony saw a mixture of promotions for both commissioned and non-commissioned officers of BDRCS.

The oath reciting was led by Mohd Rosdi Hj Ruslan, one of the newly appointed commissioned officers.

Present as the guest of honour was Secretary General of the association, Sheikh Hj Abd Kadir Abdullah.

In an interview with one of the newly promoted commissioned officers, Norashafitri Abdul Wahid said that the promotion ceremony was to honour new members of BDRCS which comprised of youths from various education institutions in the Brunei-Muara district.

“We hope that more students from their respective schools will join as a member of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society to help save lives.

“Some of the newly appointed members today are from Rimba Secondary School, Sekolah Tinggi Perempuan Raja Isteri, Sekolah Ugama Arab, Maktab Duli, Maktab Teknik Sultan Saiful Rijal, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College and Institut Tekno logi Brunei,” said Norashafitri.

She said that youth who wanted to join as first aiders too are welcomed to contact the Public Relation Unit of BDRCS, Siti Muna Mahirah Hj Mohamad at 8200793 or add their Facebook account (Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent).

The event concluded with a national flag handover ceremony from National Youth Director Hj Suhaimi Hj Ibrahim to Mohd Rosdi Hj Ruslan, followed by a recitation of ‘doa selamat’ led by Abdul Mu’iz Azizi Zulkifli.

Red Crescent Society Up And Ready For Regatta Brunei Darussalam 2014

 
March 3rd., 2014 - Bandar Seri Begawan: 84 members of the Red Crescent Society Brunei Darussalam were stationed accordingly in the Dermaga DiRaja, BSB to be on standby and ready to assist in any emergency situations that may occur during the blazing heat throughout the event.
 
Aneta Yusuf, Communication Director of Red Crescent Society said that the weather condition yesterday was very hot, thus making the public who were present to witness the event vulnerable to heat injuries such as heat stroke, where a person can suffer from severe hyperthermia and also in the case of the rowers involved in the races, they may be suffering cramps.
 
Offering their help were volunteers from schools such as IGS, the private sector and individuals qualified in first aid.
