PBSM’NBD penyelaras Mesyuarat Palang Merah 2016

KUALA BELAIT, 11 April – Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah Negara Brunei Darussalam (PBSM’NBD) dijangka akan terpilih sebagai penyelaras Mesyuarat Kepimpinan Palang Merah dan Bulan Sabit Merah Asia Tenggara ke-13 2016.
                
 Tugas penyelaras mesyuarat tersebut telah diserahkan di akhir Mesyuarat Tahunan Kepimpinan Palang Merah dan Bulan Sabit Merah Asia Tenggara ke-11 yang diadakan di Singapura baru-baru ini.

                Penasihat Perancangan Strategik dan Dasar Awang Haji Ismail bin Kassim memberitahu hari ini, penyerahan tugas berkenaan telah diserahkan kepada Palang Merah Kemboja bagi melaksanakan mesyuarat pada tahun 2015 dan telah merisik PBSM’NBD untuk persediaan menyelaras mesyuarat ke-13 bagi tahun 2016.

                PBSM’NBD adalah antara sebelas buah negara selain Kemboja, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Filipina, Singapura, Thailand, Timor Leste dan Vietnam yang telah menghadiri mesyuarat tersebut yang telah dilancarkan oleh tetamu kehormatnya Menteri Kanan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Luar Singapura Masagos Zulkifli.

                PBSM’NBD telah diwakili oleh empat orang kepimpinannya iaitu Pengarah Kebangsaan Awang Morni bin Haji Awang Damit, Presiden Awang Haji Julaini bin Haji Latif, Timbalan Presiden Awang Chai Yum Fatt dan Penasihat Perancangan Strategik dan Dasar Awang Haji Ismail bin Kassim.
                Beberapa isu yang memfokuskan hal-hal pentadbiran, peraturan, perundangan dan penggunaan Lambang Palang Merah/Bulan Sabit Merah telah diperbincangkan dalam mesyuarat tersebut yang berlangsung pada 23hb hingga 26hb Mac lalu. Selain itu isu keselamatan dan kesihatan serta membincangkan perancangan pelan tindakan semasa kejadian wabak dan bencana alam turut dibincangkan.

Red Crescent hoists national flag

THE Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) held a flag raising ceremony yesterday in conjunction with the upcoming 30th National Day.

It was held in collaboration with the Co-Curriculum Education Department at the Ministry of Education.

Around 300 students from various primary and secondary schools around the country were invited to take part in the ceremony at the Sports School, Kg Pulaie.

The students comprised army cadets, police cadets, Brunei Scouts Association, Girl Guides’ Association of Brunei Darussalam and BDRCS.

BDRCS President Pg Suhaimi Pg Hj Bakar handed over the national flag to army cadets tasked with carrying it and fixing it to the pole. The flag was raised to the sound of the national anthem, “Allah Peliharakan Sultan”.



Pg Suhaimi also handed over national flags to the society’s representatives from all districts.



Prior to the flag hoisting, three officials were presented their promotion letters: BDRCS President Pg Suhaimi, who is also the acting director of Co-Curriculum Education; Assistant Director of Co-Curriculum Education, Roslin Hj Suhailee; and Red Crescent Coordinating Officer for the Uniformed Group Section at the Co-Curriculum Education Department, Hjh Izat Hj Tuah.



BDRCS officially opened its new headquarters at Anggerek Desa Flat, Berakas in August last year. The society was officially recognised by the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in 1996.

Brunei Red Crescent to hold ranking ceremony, launch Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief Team

A RANK Commissioning Ceremony for 27 national executive board members of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) will be held on March 23, simultaneously with the launch of the Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief Team (HADRT) squad.

HADRT is a special squad established by BDRCS with the objective to centralise humanitarian aid services and disaster management, in accordance to the disaster management charter of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The squad comprise youths and volunteers who are ready to provide disaster management and humanitarian services, especially in first aid services and humanitarian work programmes. The squad hopes to provide aid to government agencies, non-government organisations and the private sector to collectively handle issues of disaster management and humanitarian work.

The event will also feature the handover of a sponsored INNOVA car from NBT Sdn Bhd to be used as a “non-medical ambulance” for BDRCS’ use. This year RBDCS will celebrate its 66th anniversary since its establishment.
