THE Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) held a flag raising ceremony yesterday in conjunction with the upcoming 30th National Day.
It was held in collaboration with the Co-Curriculum Education Department at the Ministry of Education.
Around 300 students from various primary and secondary schools around
the country were invited to take part in the ceremony at the Sports
School, Kg Pulaie.
The students comprised army cadets, police cadets, Brunei Scouts
Association, Girl Guides’ Association of Brunei Darussalam and BDRCS.
BDRCS President Pg Suhaimi Pg Hj Bakar handed over the national flag
to army cadets tasked with carrying it and fixing it to the pole. The
flag was raised to the sound of the national anthem, “Allah Peliharakan Sultan”.
Pg Suhaimi also handed over national flags to the society’s representatives from all districts.
Prior to the flag hoisting, three officials were presented their
promotion letters: BDRCS President Pg Suhaimi, who is also the acting
director of Co-Curriculum Education; Assistant Director of Co-Curriculum
Education, Roslin Hj Suhailee; and Red Crescent Coordinating Officer
for the Uniformed Group Section at the Co-Curriculum Education
Department, Hjh Izat Hj Tuah.
BDRCS officially opened its new headquarters at Anggerek Desa Flat,
Berakas in August last year. The society was officially recognised by
