THE Chairman of Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society’s Belait District branch, Tuan Haji Ismail bin Kassim, has been elected to lead the association after he was elected as President during the National Level 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday morning, while the post of Deputy President (National) went to Haji Morni bin Haji Awang Damit and Haji Mohd Suhaimi bin Haji Ibrahim was elected Deputy President (International).
Sheikh Haji Abdul Kadir bin Abdullah meanwhile retained his position as the Secretary-General, while Hajah Asmah binti Haji Omar was named Deputy Secretary General.
Pengiran Haji Yusoff bin Pengiran Haji Bahar was selected as the Treasurer and assisting him will be Haji Mohd Rafee bin Haji Safaras as Deputy Treasurer and Head of Fundraising, while put in charge of leading the youths was Adinana binti Haji Abdul Rashid.
Officiating the AGM yesterday was Dr Hajah Maslina binti Haji Mohsin, the guest of honour and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the Ministry of Health (MoH) who came as a personal representative and got the chance to inspect the static parade line that comprised 120 Red Crescent cadets.

In her speech, Dr Hajah Maslina said, “The Ministry of Health welcomes the initiatives of Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society in facing the challenges of global uncertainty and the increase of non-communicable diseases.
“Strong cooperation with the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society is needed to play a role in raising public awareness on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”
