Bendera negara berkibar di perkarangan KUPU SB

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Isnin, 10 Februari. - Sebagai salah sebuah institusi perguruan agama yang unggul di Negara Brunei Darussalam, Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) tidak ketinggalan untuk terus memantapkan semangat patriotik para graduan kolej berkenaan sempena menjelangnya sambutan Ulang Tahun Hari Kebangsaan negara ini pada 23 Februari depan.

Bagi sama-sama membarigakan sambutan berkenaan, kolej tersebut pagi tadi turut mengadakan Upacara Menaikkan Bendera Sempena Sambutan Ulang Tahun Hari Kebangsaan Negara Brunei Darussalam Ke-30 di hadapan Bangunan Pentadbiran, KUPU SB, di sini.

Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat dalam upacara ini ialah Ra'es KUPU SB, Dr. Hajah Masnon binti Haji Ibrahim.

Juga hadir ialah pegawai-pegawai kanan, pensyarah-pensyarah dan kakitangan kolej tersebut.

Lebih 600 menyertai upacara yang dianjurkan oleh Bahagian Hal Ehwal Pelajar dengan dikelolakan oleh Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar Sesi 2013/2014.

Terdahulu, upacara dimulakan dengan perbarisan lalu lapan orang Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Negara Brunei Darussalam berserta dengan lapan pembawa bendera negara bagi mewakili pusat/fakulti/bahagian dan diikuti oleh Pasukan Kadet Bomba KUPU SB, Pasukan Bulan Sabit Merah, sukarelawan dan mahasiswa serta mahasiswi KUPU SB.

Upacara diteruskan dengan bacaan Asma'ul Husna dan Surah Al Faatihah yang dibacakan oleh Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Keugamaan dan Ta'mir Surah, KUPU SB, Awangku Haji Muhammad Firdaus bin Pengiran Haji Rusman diikuti dengan upacara menaikkan bendera dan penyerahan bendera besar Negara Brunei Darussalam yang diiringi dengan Lagu Kebangsaan 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan'.

Laungan takbir 'Allahuakbar' sebanyak tiga kali menyusul kemudian dilaungkan oleh Dekan Pelajar KUPU SB.
 
Aktiviti tersebut bertujuan untuk menyemarakkan Majlis Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan Ke-30, di samping memohon keselamatan, kesejahteraan serta keberkatan dari Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala agar negara ini sentiasa aman damai, makmur dan sejahtera.

Bendera negara terus berkibar megah

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jumaat, 14 Februari. - Bendera Negara Brunei Darussalam terus bersemarak dan berkibar megah di setiap bangunan-bangunan kerajaan, sektor swasta, institusi-institusi pendidikan, sekolah-sekolah menengah dan rendah, rumah-rumah persendirian di seluruh negara.
 
Sehubungan itu, Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah (PBSM) dengan kerjasama Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum, Kementerian Pendidikan mengadakan Upacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara Brunei Darussalam Sempena Sambutan Ulang Tahun Ke-30 Hari Kebangsaaan negara ini berlangsung di Sekolah Sukan, Kampung Pulaie, di sini.
 
 MENAIKKAN bendera negara oleh Pasukan Kadet Tentera yang diiringi dengan Lagu Kebangsaan ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’.

Upacara Menaikkan Bendera dimulakan dengan penyerahan bendera negara oleh Pengarah Kebangsaan PBSM, Awang Haji Murni bin Haji Awang Damit selaku Pengerusi Majlis dan kemudiannya diserahkan kepada Pemangku Pengarah Pendidikan Kokurikulum, Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum, Pengiran Suhaimi bin Pengiran Haji Bakar.

Selepas itu, diikuti dengan menaikkan bendera negara oleh Pasukan kadet Tentera yang diiringi dengan lagu kebangsaan 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' dan diteruskan dengan penyerahan bendera kepada pengarah-pengarah PBSM di keempat-empat buah daerah.

Terdahulu majlis didahului dengan Pentauliahan Pangkat kepada tiga Pegawai Kanan PBSM terdiri daripada Pemangku Pengarah Pendidikan Kokurikulum, Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum, Pengiran Suhaimi bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, Pemangku Penolong Pengarah Pendidikan Kokurikulum, Awang Roslin bin Haji Suhailee dan Pegawai Penyelaras PBSM, Dayang Hajah Izat binti Haji Tuah disempurnakan oleh Presiden PBSM, Awang Haji Julaini bin Haji Abdul Latif.

PBSM Volunteer To Reach Out For Tutong Flood Victim


Tutong: To ease the difficulties faced by the flood victims, the Red Crescent Society of Tutong District (PBSM) recently volunteered to help out. Haji Salleh bin Othman, the Director of (PBSM) and Assistant Director of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BDRCS); and Haji Malik bin Haji Imbran, Assistant Director of PBSM and the Director of Disaster Management who was leading the team.

On duty officers and members of the association coordinated the relief efforts with the District Disaster Management Centre between January 23 and February 1 at the Community Hall of Tanjong Maya and Tanjong Maya Religious School.

This was aimed for assisting other agencies which includes the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue Department, Community Development Department, as well as cooperating with other volunteer organization such as Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) and Gemilang.

The contributions included bottled water, meal packs and basic dry food to the residents of Mukim Tanjong Maya and Mukim Ukong.

BDRCS Recruiting Volunteers

Bandar Seri Begawan: The Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) requires the assistance of able bodies’ volunteers especially youth who are interested in joining the medical service team as a First Aider member.

The association welcomes individuals, especially youth that will be involved with the medical assistance during the 30th National Day celebrations on February 23. A total of 100 volunteers are needed for the first Aider position that will be responsible for the safety of 40,000 participants during the celebration. On February 18, Volunteers for the Red Crescent will start working throughout the rehearsals.

Registration is open from February 10-15 from 9am to 4pm at the Red Crescent House, Level 3, Anggrek Desa flat, Block C-16, Simpang 32-5, Jalan Berakas or email to info@bruneiredcrescent.com and the public and youth are welcome to register as volunteers as well.

First Annual Meeting For Red Crescent Association


Kuala Belait: Red Crescent Association of Brunei Darussalam held its first National Executive Board Meeting Session 2013 to 2015 at the branch office in Kuala Belait.

Four new Executive Committee Members were appointed for the new session at National Stadium in Berakas; Hj Julaini Hj Abd Latip was appointed as the new President, Chai Yum Fat as the Vice President, Secretary General Hj Sheikh Abd Kadir Abdullah and Treasurer Pg Hj Yussof Pg Hj Bahar. All four new members were appointed based on majority votes.

The first discussion was chaired by Hj Julaini where it discussed various agendas including transforming the association as a-still relevant entity, to be more resourceful in terms of delivering quality humanitarian services.

Members also agreed to prepare programmes for youths whereby the association was tasked with devising strategies to include youths with potential to hold executive positions in the establishment, pushing it further into development.

A special budget has been approved by the association for the Director of Youths, reflecting the group’s dedication to youth as future leaders. First aid courses and training in emergency response will be activated with fees in accordance with the best practices of Red Crescent Associations worldwide.

To facilitate these plans, Red Crescent will put pen to paper Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the same associations from across Asia to improve its training programmes.

Additionally, the convention allowed for restructuring of the organisation’s positions nationwide while discussing possible future visits to Red Crescent / Red Cross Associations overseas as one of their main ventures in the not so distant future.

Red Crescent Association holds year’s first meeting

THE first National Executive Board Meeting of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Association Session 2013 to 2015 was held at the association’s branch office in Kuala Belait.

The association, at its 4th Board Meeting, appointed four new Executive Committee Members for the new session at National Stadium in Berakas. By member votes, the new President Awg Hj Julaini bin Hj Abd Latip, Vice President Awg Chai Yum Fat, Secretary General Awg Hj Sheikh Abdul Kadir bin Abdullah and Treasurer Pg Hj Yussof bin Pg Hj Bahar were appointed.

The first meeting, chaired by Awg Hj Julaini, discussed various agendas which included transforming the association to ensure relevancy, to be more resourceful not only its members but also the community at large and to address its inadequacies for effective and quality delivery of humanitarian services.

He said that at the meeting, the members agreed to line up programmes for youths. The association is also entrusted to develop strategies to identify youths who have the potential to hold executive positions in order to advance and mobilise the association.

The association approved a special budget for the position of Director of Youths as members realised the significance of youth management as they were our future leaders, he said.

The association will provide first-aid courses or emergency response training and impose fees in line with the practices of Red Crescent Associations worldwide.

The Brunei Red Crescent Association will also sign Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with other Red Cross Associations in Asia to enhance its training programmes.

It will invite members from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent to hold dialogues on how to develop the association.

“It is also our priority to revise the board and to boost our financial standing through various activities that could help us to increase our funds. We also hope to see the number of our members and volunteers growing for the nation’s growth,” he added.

The meeting also re-structured the organisation’s positions nationwide, and discussed future visits to Red Crescent/Red Cross Associations overseas as one of their main activities.

Awg Hj Julaini urged youths to take part in the association’s work, that are not only limited to providing medical aid but covers other aspects of humanitarian work.

The association is striving to develop a humanitarian assistance unit and will continue to cooperate with the government and other NGOs.

4-day leadership training for Red Crescent Society

TO PROVIDE basic fundamental knowledge regarding the direction of the International Red Crescent Society and International Red Cross, the Red Crescent Society of Brunei-Muara District is currently holding a four-day leadership training camp from March 15 - 19, at the Jubli Perak Garden.

The participating 60 students will get the chance to receive motivational and leadership training, with hopes that they will be the future generation to continue Red Crescent activities in the country.

According to a statement release, the society hopes to produce established unit school leader's who are disciplined and progressive.

At the same time, the four-day camp will open up possibilities for interaction, knowledge exchange to increase the member's experience in group works that are in line with the values of the Red Crescent Society.

Every School Unit are asked to send a minimum of three students who are confirmed as unit school leaders in their respective schools. The main focus of the training is to give background training on 'Youth on the Move', Exploration of Human Rights Law, and Basic Introduction to First Aid.

The camp will be holding talks, lectures, practical group works, as well as motivation training in groups.

Students will also be introduced to survival and leadership training.
